The Youngstown Steel Heritage Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 tax exempt corporation dedicated to preserving the manufacturing history and heritage of the Mahoning Valley in Ohio and the Shenango Valley in Pennsylvania. The YSHF was founded in 2000 as the Tod Engine Foundation, and operates the Tod Engine Heritage Park in Youngstown, Ohio.
The Tod Engine Heritage Park is Youngstown's newest historic attraction! The centerpiece of the Park is the Tod Engine, a 260 ton, 4,000 horsepower stationary steam engine which drove rolling mills at the Youngstown Sheet & Tube Brier Hill Works. The engine will be housed in a recreation of a typical steel mill powerhouse building, complete with overhead crane.
The Tod Engine Heritage Park is not officially open to the public yet, however the public is welcome to visit the Park on Saturdays from Noon to 5 PM May through October.
